Police found a man reported to be shoplifting from the Abercrombie and Fitch at the Northshore Mall at 1:51 p.m. and determined he hadn’t stolen anything. “The male had purchased the items in the bag,” an officer wrote.
The Fire Department extinguished a fire that razed a freestanding shed at 14 Riverview Drive at about noon. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
Police responded to a 7:58 p.m. report of shoplifting at Kohl’s and arrested Kelsey Almeida, 18, of 1 Loring Ave., Salem, and Samantha Costa, 18, of 1 Loring Ave., Salem, each on a charge of shoplifting.
A 8:29 p.m. report of a skateboarder in the road brought police to Wenham and Locust streets, but the person had apparently left the area.
Police responded to an 11:20 p.m. report of a fight and subsequently arrested Alyssa Newton, 21, of 38 Jackson St., Lynn, on charges of domestic assault and battery, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property over $250.
Somebody interrupted a housebreak at 47 Needham Road, according to a 1:52 p.m. report. An officer said later in the day that a photo array had been prepared, possibly indicating police had a suspect.
A motorist reported to police at 4:44 p.m. that after a garbage worker waved him around a truck on Broad Street, another worker came from behind the truck as he passed and struck the mirror with his hand and began yelling. Police determined there were no injuries.
Police conducted a traffic stop at Bridge and Washington streets at 6:37 p.m. and subsequently arrested OC Payne, 26, of 95 Woodman St., Lynn, on charges of two counts of possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute, and Tobin Satterwhite, 29, of 194 Curwin Circle, Lynn, on a charge of attempted murder. The stop was conducted as part of a mutual aid assist for an ongoing investigation out of Lynn; Satterwhite was subsequently arrested by Lynn police.
