Salem police search for man who robbed 7-Eleven at gunpoint

SALEM — Police are seeking the man who robbed the 7-Eleven on Norman Street late Friday night, menacing the clerk with a gun.

The robber escaped with cash. The amount is not being released. He is described as a white male, about 6-foot-1 with a thin build and wearing a gray sweatshirt, plaid coat and black stocking cap.

The store was deserted except for the night clerk when the robber struck a few minutes after 11 p.m., demanding cash and showing what is believed to be an actual gun. In response, the clerk opened the register. The clerk was not physically injured.
