Police responded to a 7:35 p.m. report of a disturbance at 10 Ward St. and determined a brother and sister had been arguing “over a bottle of soda.”
A 1:46 a.m. report of a domestic dispute at 27 Lee Fort Terrace resulted in the arrest of Daniel Kozik, 26, homeless, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
A Lafayette Street woman reported at 10:48 a.m. that “someone unknown to her has been tapping into her telephone line for over a year” and was “listening to her conversations.” Police wrote: “She was advised to contact the telephone company for further assistance in this matter.”
Police received a 1 p.m. report that a wallet had been stolen from a jacket at the YMCA at 40 Leggs Hill Road and arrested Austin Shea, 17, of 19 Victory Road, Salem, on charges of larceny from a building and fraudulent use of a credit card less than $250.
A Boston Street man reported at 3:16 p.m. that he returned to his apartment to find the front door had been removed. Nothing was reported stolen. A neighbor told police she had observed a man take the door off, and when she asked what he was doing, he told her to “mind her own business,” police wrote. The man said he suspected the removal of his door was a “landlord move.”
Police received a 12:40 p.m. report of two boys lighting fireworks in the area of Ocean Avenue. An officer spoke to one of the boys, who said “he will not light fireworks off again,” police wrote.
The owner of Wordly Pets reported at 2 p.m. that an employee she had just fired was refusing to leave the store and return a key, but the person left before police arrived.
A 62-year-old Curtis Street man was transported to Salem Hospital after he fell 8 feet off a deck, according to a 1:11 a.m. report.
