Scholarship dance planned in Beverly resident's memory

BEVERLY — Family and friends of a Beverly man who died in a motorcycle accident will hold a scholarship dance in his memory.

The Christopher Lopez Scholarship Fund Dance will be held Friday, Jan. 28, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Italian Community Center, 302 Rantoul St.

Lopez died June 12 as a result of injuries in a motorcycle accident in Arizona, where he was attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix. He would have turned 24 on Jan. 28, the date of the scholarship dance.

The dance will include a silent auction, raffles, DJ, appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are $10 per person prior to the event and $15 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Christopher Lopez Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to at least one Beverly High School graduate beginning in June.

For tickets, call Gina Geary at 978-944-0496, Christina Cuttle at 978-767-3025 or Loralei Lauranzano at 978-921-8741.
