---- — BEVERLY — A 51-year-old Beverly resident was struck by an MBTA commuter rail train near the Beverly Depot Friday night, police said.
The man was trespassing on the inbound track, according to MBTA transit police. He sustained “a non-life-threatening injury to his head and other minor lacerations about (his) body.”
The man, whom police did not identify, was taken to the hospital.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Train service was temporarily disrupted while transit police, Beverly police, fire and ambulance responded to the Beverly Depot.
When reached yesterday, Superintendent-in-chief Joseph O’Connor said the MBTA transit police had no further information to release.
