Ipswich Museum’s “Sail Away” gala is set for Wednesday, April 9, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Hellenic Center, 117 County Road, Ipswich. The event features fun, food and auctions. Tickets cost $50 per person and include a buffet, appetizers and two beverage tickets. All proceeds benefit Ipswich Museum’s restoration projects. The Friends of Beverly Public Library’s annual Spring Book Sale is set for Saturday, April 5, through Sunday, April 13, during regular library hours, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m., at 32 Essex St., Beverly. The sale features a large selection of hardcover and paperback books for all ages and tastes. A smaller selection of music and movies will also be available. All proceeds from the sale benefit the library. Also, a Spring Book Sale Preview Party for members of the Friends of the Beverly Public Library will be held on Friday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Regular book sale prices will apply with a purchase limit of 15 books. Hamilton Hall will host an appraisal day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with appraisals by Stephen Fletcher and his team from Skinner Auctioneers. Each person may bring up to three items to be evaluated. For items that are too large to move, bring a photograph of the item in its entirety, including measurements, and photos of any carvings, marks, stamps or special features. Appraisal slots must be reserved in advance as space is limited. The cost is $20 for one item or $50 for three items. All proceeds benefit Hamilton Hall, 9 Chestnut St., Salem.
