For their excellence both in the classroom and in their respective athletic endeavors, swimming standout Erin Cunningham of the Pingree School and track star Everest Crawford of Gloucester High have been named the Moynihan Lumber Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of March.

Erin, a senior at Pingree, broke a pair of school records in the pool this winter. Excelling in the sprints, the team captain set new Highlander marks in the 50 freestyle (25.12 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (55.85). Owner of an impressive 3.6 grade point average, Erin takes some of the most challenging classes at Pingree, including AP Stats, AP Environmental Science, Calculus and Spanish 4.

Everest, who is a junior at Gloucester High, has emerged as one of the top runners in all of New England in the 1000 meters. He was named MVP of the Northeastern Conference this winter and was ranked third in the entire country in the 1000, winning the Class C and New England titles in the event. He is also the school record holder in that distance in a time of 2:26.11. Owner of a 94.6 average and ranked 18th in his class, Everest is a Sawyer Medal winner, a National Honor Society candidate and a member of the Honor Roll.
