Boxford

Wednesday

John Schmidgall, 56, of 79 Main St., Byfield, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. and charged with drunken driving (third offense) and an open-container violation, following a report of an erratic driver on Pond Street by Route 97. Police Lt. Robert Hazelwood said Schmidgall blew a .24 blood alcohol level. He was held overnight at the Boxford police station and arraigned at Haverhill District Court yesterday. He is being held without bail until a Nov. 20 dangerousness hearing.

Salem

Wednesday

Jesus M. Pena Jr., 26, of 89 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested at 5:11 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and intimidation of a witness, following a report of a domestic disturbance at his residence.

Police received a report at 5:42 p.m. of youths possibly "huffing" (abusing inhalants). Police responded and found one person in the group. He did not have any warrants out on him so police sent him on his way.

William A. Doucette, 25, of 59 Goodale St., West Peabody, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. on a warrant out of Lynn District Court. Doucette was working for Community Taxi and his taxi was picked up by the company.

Firefighters responded to 117 Lafayette St., after the smoke alarm went on at 7:39 p.m. because the resident left the George Foreman grill plugged in.

Raymond S. Medrano, 18, of 102 Congress St., Salem, and Kelly Anne Monroe, 18, of 51 Adams St., Norwood, were arrested at 12:16 p.m. and charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and a drug violation in a school zone, following a motor vehicle stop on Harrison Avenue. Sgt. Kristian Hanson wrote in his report he stopped the car for going the wrong way on a one-way street. There was a smell of freshly burned marijuana from the car. And a search of the car produced: seven bags of crack, 11 bags of pot, and two bags each of heroin and powder cocaine. Medrano, the driver, was also charged with a one-way violation.

Police received two reports at 2:20 p.m. of car windows smashed in the Salem High School parking lot.

Michael Whitcomb, 39, of 28 Kelleher Road, Beverly, and Nicole Chairamonte, 30, of 4 Michael Road, Lynnfield, were arrested at 2:23 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Walmart.

Rachel Lee, 21, of 98 Washington Square, Salem, was arrested at 2:38 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Kohl's.

Peabody

Wednesday

Miguelito Gonzalez, 31, of 38 Hanover St., Apt. 13, Lynn, was arrested at 6:19 p.m. and charged with driving while unlicensed, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 1.

Thursday

Jeanette A. Bolden, 23, of 10 Beard St., Apt. 2, Dorchester, was arrested at 1:29 p.m. and charged with larceny (more than $250) following a report of seven bottles of perfume stolen from Nordstrom at the Northshore Mall. Police received a description of the car and a license plate number and the state police stopped the car on Route 1 south.

Wednesday

Police received a report at 1:12 p.m. of vandalism to a vehicle.

Paul A. Bedrosian, 43, of 81 Flint St., Salem, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. and charged with driving with a revoked license, following a motor vehicle stop on Essex Street.

Thursday

Police received a report at 10:29 a.m. of a purse stolen from a car on Valley Street.
