Alycia Welch, 20, of 308 Haverhill St., North Reading, was arrested at Walmart, 55 Brooksby Village Drive, at 5:29 p.m. and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Police also arrested Andrew Pine, 23, of 83 Prospect St., Gloucester, and charged him with shoplifting by concealing merchandise; possession of a Class A drug, a Class C drug and a Class E drug; and being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.
Friday
A car reportedly struck a bicyclist on Conant Street at Burley Farm Road at 8:25 p.m. Police could not provide further information as of press time.
Peabody
Thursday
A 22-inch Samsung flat-screen TV valued at $500 and a Coach bag worth $350 were reported stolen from a home on Burnham Road at 4:07 p.m.
A bicycle worth $100 was reported stolen on Summer Street at 7:01 p.m.
Wanderson Ferreira, 22, of 85 Tremont St., Apt. 2, of Peabody, was arrested at the Northshore Mall on Andover Street at 8:26 p.m. and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation and an outstanding warrant.
Nilson Ramalho, 27, of 23 Harris St., Apt. 2, Peabody, was arrested at 8:29 p.m. on Lowell Street in the vicinity of 2 Burbon St. and charged with driving without a license, an equipment violation and a Peabody police warrant.
Friday
Two young women reported at 1:14 a.m. that a male in a black Nissan Maxima asked them if they would like to see him naked and said he would pay them $150 to do so while the women were parked at Gaeta's Citgo station, 153 Newbury St. When they refused, he upped the offer to $200. The women drove off on Route 1 north with the Maxima following them until they turned onto Lowell Street. Police checked the area but could not find the car matching their description.
Police arrested a juvenile at 2:37 a.m. in the vicinity of 82 Lowell St. and charged him with driving under the influence of drugs and a motor vehicle equipment violation.
A vehicle on Pinewood Road was reported broken into overnight at 6:37 a.m. Taken was an iPod valued at $150, a wallet and a pair of Oakley sunglasses valued at $150.
A car hit a pole at 18 Heath Road at 8:01 a.m. The operator of a black, 2009 Toyota RAV4, Sean Hurley, 21, of 10 Magnolia Terrace, Peabody, was transported to Salem Hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to a report of an alleged drunken driver who struck a fence in the area of Aberdeen and Lexington avenues. Robert H. Melanson Jr., 43, of 20 Aberdeen Ave. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Police plan to summons him to court on other motor vehicle-related charges.
Police responded to a two-car accident involving a Ford Explorer and a Nissan Altima at 11:02 a.m. at 93 Lynn St. Two parties in one of the vehicles were transported to Lahey Clinic in Peabody.
A man on Newcastle Road reported to police that he had just returned home at 1:11 p.m. when he saw a man walking out of his house. He described the suspect as skinny, wearing a black hat or hood, of average height, and leaving on foot in the direction of Treadwell's ice cream. Patrolman Steven Molk arrested Gregory Mello, 23, of 31 Gardner St., Peabody, and charging him with breaking and entering in the daytime for felony, attempting to commit a crime, receiving stolen property worth more than $250, possession of a Class A substance and a warrant from Salem District Court.
Police took a report at 1:41 p.m. of a past break-in to a bedroom on Andover Drive that took place about 2 p.m. on Thursday. Damaged were a collection of 126 DVDs; a Toshiba TV, DVD and VCR; and a Nintendo game system. Police plan to summons to court Domenic Laurenza, 32, of 26 Rockway Road, Peabody, for malicious damage.
Salem

A woman reported to police at 5:13 p.m. that her mother was taken to Salem Hospital, 81 Highland Ave., from Brooksby Village on Nov. 4. After the mother was brought upstairs to floor Davenport 9, she died that same day. The daughter reported that an engagement ring and a wedding ring worth a combined $1,500 were missing. Police contacted hospital security, but the rings were not recovered.
Justen Allan Sharpe, 23, of 2 Tremont St., Peabody, was arrested by Peabody police at 6:24 p.m. on a temporary warrant from Salem police. Police said Sharpe sent seven text messages to his girlfriend in violation of a restraining order and charged him with seven restraining order violations. Sharpe was held without bail on this case pending a dangerousness hearing in other domestic cases. Sharpe pleaded "not guilty" to the charges during his arraignment Friday in Salem District Court.
