Annual tree lighting at Common tonight

BEVERLY — The annual Tree Lighting at Beverly Common will be held tonight from 7 to 7:30.

The event will include the lighting of the Christmas tree on the Common, an appearance by Santa and a selection of holiday songs by the Beverly High School Chorale Group.

There will also be cocoa and cookies and gifts for children. The event is free.

The Beverly Main Streets event is sponsored by Danversbank. Decorations for the tree were created by Brownie troops in Beverly.
