Hundreds celebrate Christmas at Gordon

WENHAM — Gordon College hosted a four-day Christmas event that wrapped up over the weekend.

Hundreds showed up from all over the North Shore to participate in tractor-pulled hayrides, a tree lighting, a screening of the film "White Christmas" and two holiday concerts.

Gordon College students drummed up attendance by passing out homemade cookies and invitations to neighbors and white chocolate bars to local businesses. Students also hosted a sustainable-ornament-making class for children, using recyclable objects such as newspaper and pine cones to create Christmas tree ornaments.

The weekend ended with the annual Christmas Gala on Saturday night, a showcase of the college's many vocal and instrumental ensembles.
