Police received a report at 6:11 p.m. of a break-in on Hazel Street.
Police responded to Market Basket at 8:12 p.m. after the store manager reported that a woman tried to walk out of the store with a carriage full of groceries she did not pay for. The manager told police she stopped the woman in the parking lot, but the shoplifter then fled, leaving the carriage behind. She left in a Nissan Altima. The manager was able to write down the license plate number and gave the information to police.
Wednesday
Yefri O. Calcano, 21, of 89 Sheridan St., Lynn, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and a one-way violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Church Street. Police said they stopped Calcano for going the wrong way on Church Street. After he stopped Calcano's vehicle, the officer could smell burned marijuana. Calcano appeared sleepy, and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, the report said. He told police he came from a friend's house in The Point and just smoked marijuana. Calcano failed three field sobriety tests and was arrested.
John W. Strausser, 24, of 12 Dow St., Salem, was arrested at 1:54 a.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery and witness intimidation, following a report of a domestic on Dow Street.
Police received a report at 1:08 p.m. of an injured sea gull on Highland Avenue. Police responded, but the bird did not need help and walked off.
Gerald T. Libby, 54, who is listed as homeless, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. and charged with trespassing at the Lincoln Hotel.

Monday
Ronnie DeFelice Jr., 18, of 8 Bagley Terrace, Lynn, and Mark Battista, 34, of 80 Silsbee St., Lynn, were arrested at 5:04 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Kohl's. Battista was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and threatening to commit a crime. DeFelice was also charged with illegal possession of a knife.
Police received a report at 6:19 p.m. of a car break-in at Courtyard Marriott on Independence Way.
Nicholas Iacoviello, 44, of 76 Swans Pond Road, Melrose, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Walmart.

Police received a report at 2:55 p.m. of a break-in at a home at 2 Neal Road.
Kristen Morrissey, 22, of 3200 Avalon Drive, Peabody, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. and charged with shoplifting and drug possession at Walmart.
Wednesday
Michael April, 56, of 259 Newbury St., Peabody, was arrested at 2:48 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery, following a report of a domestic dispute at 1 Cabot Road.

Police received a report at 3:42 p.m. from Northshore Mall security that a spindle of jewelry from Kay Jewelers was stolen sometime between noon and 2 p.m. The jewelry was worth $4,000.
Wednesday
Edi DaSilva, 36, of 43 Greenwood St., Apt. 3, Malden, was arrested at 1:25 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license, a one-way violation and a defective-lights violation, following a motor vehicle stop on in Peabody Square.
Julio Lopez, 20, of 111 Essex St., Apt. 2, Lynn, was arrested at 10:18 a.m. at Peabody District Court and charged with driving while unlicensed.
Police received a report at 11:51 a.m. of a break-in in one of the lockers at the YMCA on Lynnfield Street. The keys were stolen from the locker, which were then used to open the car where the culprit stole the member's wallet.

Police received a report at 10:12 p.m. of kids at a bonfire on East Street. The kids were allegedly throwing fire, as well.
Wednesday
Police responded to 54 West Dane St. at 11 a.m. after a safe was found.
Police received a report at 12:14 p.m. of a police medallion stolen from a grave at the Central Cemetery.
Police received a report at 1 p.m. of a man taking pictures of girls at Dane Street Beach. Police responded and didn't see anyone taking pictures, and no one at the beach knew of the problem.
