Shaun Macneil, 28, of 5 Hutchinson St., Revere, was arrested at 2:04 p.m. on Northshore Road on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Police got a call from Homeland Security about a 17-year-old Peabody girl who was detained at the Vermont-Canada border. The girl had taken the family car and tried to drive into Canada, according to police. Her parents were notified and went to get her, police said.
Yitong Xia, 20, of 65 Gladstone St., Apt. R, Boston, was arrested on Route 1 at 3:24 a.m. on charges of drunken driving, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, defective equipment (a tire) and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

A resident on West Shore Drive returned home at 8:37 a.m. to find her front door open. Police said everything appeared to be in order.
Lynn police contacted the station at 8:57 p.m. to report they were looking for an 83-year-old man who last spoke to his wife around 4 p.m. when he was on his way to pick her up at the Swampscott train station. The man’s wife was worried he could be disoriented due to an onset of dementia. A dispatcher spotted the man’s car in Salem and someone stayed with the man at a Salem restaurant until police arrived.
