Beverly Council and School Committee will meet tomorrow

BEVERLY — The City Council and School Committee will hold their annual joint meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Hannah Elementary School on Brimbal Avenue.

Topics on the agenda include Mayor Bill Scanlon speaking about the effort to raise money to build two artificial turf fields at the high school. Scanlon is trying to raise $2 million in private donations to construct what would be called Beverly Sports Park on the high school campus.

Also on the agenda are Department of Public Services Director Mike Collins on the consolidation of the city and school building and grounds functions, Superintendent Marie Galinski on the strategic plan for the schools, Beverly High Principal Sean Gallagher on the Small Learning Communities grant, and Administrator of Special Education Debra O'Connor with an update on the special education program.
