Police investigate after injured man found at Willowdale

TOPSFIELD —

Topsfield and state police are investigating a report of a seriously injured man who was discovered at Willowdale Estate this morning, police Chief Evan Haglund said.

Police received the report at 7:45 a.m., Haglund said. Willowdale Estate, at 24 Asbury St., is located inside Bradley Palmer State Park. The historic 1901 mansion is a venue for weddings, corporate events and private parties, opened in 2007 after extensive renovations.

A person who identified himself as "state police" answered the phone at the estate today, but provided no information before hanging up.

Haglund referred all questions to the Essex County District Attorney's office. State and Topsfield police are investigating, he said.
