SALEM — Police say a Peabody man was arrested on a drunken driving charge after he crashed into a parked vehicle on Jefferson Avenue early yesterday morning.
Blane Robert Rogers, 26, of 266 Newbury St., was arrested on charges of drunken driving and operating an unregistered vehicle.
There were no injuries.
Officers responded to a 1:36 a.m. report of an accident with air bag deployment near 204 Jefferson Ave. and found a 2011 Honda Civic sitting in the middle of the street with heavy front right side damage, according to the incident log.
Rogers, the vehicle’s operator, was still behind the wheel.
Another man on scene said he had been a passenger in the vehicle. Police determined the vehicle had struck a parked 2001 Infiniti QX4, causing damage to its left rear bumper, left rear tire and its axle.
An officer said Rogers was arrested after he failed three field sobriety tests and that he refused to take the Breathalyzer.
Both vehicles were towed.
