An officer removed a “used, dirty, uncapped syringe” from Pleasant Street around 10 a.m., according to the log.

An Endicott Avenue caller reported that she had received calls the day before at 5:25 p.m., 5:40 p.m., 6:28 p.m. and then again in the morning from a company calling itself “Impact Cash Loan.” The woman said the calls were in regards to an “Internet loan” she knew nothing about.

Police received a 2:37 p.m. report that a person was “changing on the tracks” on Village Street.

A 5:57 p.m. report of a suspicious, pudgy man with two nylon bags brought police to the area of Commercial Street and Atlantic Avenue, where they determined the man was lost and gave him directions to the bus stop.

Police received a 7:13 p.m. 911 call from a “panicked” woman on Washington Street who said she had tried to dial 411. Police wrote later: “She is fine, just embarrassed about dialing 911.”

A Rockaway Avenue woman reported that a group of kids had been banging on her door for the past hour and at one point “left a piece of a mannequin at her back door.” Police were unable to find them.

Police received a 2:48 p.m. report that a jewelry box worth $4,000 had been stolen from a Murray Street address.

A Glen Drive man reported at 4:07 p.m. that both of his license plates had been stolen, but police later determined that the man’s sons had been “playing a joke on him.” Police wrote: “Both plates located in a lockbox in his other vehicle.”

Police received an 8:09 p.m. report of “parties gathered around Hibachi” at the Charles Motel, 4 Mill St. Police wrote later: “Parties are outside grilling hamburgers, no disturbance.”

A smoke condition inside the Temple Ner Tamid at 368 Lowell St. was the result of a faulty boiler, according to a 10:30 p.m. log item.
