SALEM — More than 1,000 graduating seniors were awarded degrees Saturday during commencement ceremonies for Salem State University.
It was Salem State's 201st commencement, but this is the first year it has awarded degrees as a university, rather than a college.
Because of the large number of graduates, degrees were awarded in two ceremonies at the O'Keefe Athletic Center. Graduate degrees were awarded in a separate ceremony last Thursday.
