Beverly man faces shoplifting charge

ESSEX — A Beverly man was arrested yesterday on a charge of shoplifting in connection with a report from a Western Avenue business of several items missing. Police arrested Gregg Doonan, 56, of 128 Northridge Road in Beverly at 10:12 a.m. yesterday, about an hour after the business reported the thefts.

Doonan was booked at Manchester Police Station and transferred later yesterday to Gloucester District Court for arraignment on the charges, according to police Chief Peter Silva.
