Marblehead teen struck by car in serious condition

MARBLEHEAD — A female pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Spring and Sewall streets Thursday night is in serious condition at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to the hospital’s senior media officer for public affairs, Kristen Chadwick.

Isis Elston, 16, of Marblehead, was conscious at the scene, police said, but was transported to Salem Hospital and later to Mass General.

The case remains under investigation. Police have yet to release information about the driver of the vehicle, but in an email, police Chief Robert Picariello said the driver remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated fully.
