Police arrest 2 in car break

---- — SALEM — Police arrested two men early yesterday morning after a Hillside Avenue woman reported seeing three young men near her neighbor’s car, police said.

“She reported that she yelled at them, and they took off running,” according to a 5:21 a.m. police log item.

Officer Brian Benson arrived on Highland Avenue and saw the three men running down the street and was able stop Nathan A. Mugavero, 20, of Medford. He was charged with nighttime breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, disorderly person and a violation of the city’s knife ordinance, police said.

Additional officers and police dog Turbo continued to search for the other two, who ran into a wooded area. During the search, John M. Murray, 19, 54 Glendale Road, Marblehead, was arrested on charges of nighttime breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, disorderly person and possession of burglarious tools.

Police were able to locate a vehicle on Hillside Avenue that had been entered, which was processed as part of the investigation.

Marblehead officer Brendan Finnegan helped identify Mugavero and advised Salem police that the three men were stopped by Swampscott Police while walking in the middle of the street around 1:30 a.m., according to the police log.
