---- — BEVERLY — The city has announced a change of dates for the middle-school grade configuration meetings.

The two-hour forums will be held on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at Hannah Elementary School; Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School; Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. at Centerville Elementary School; Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at North Beverly Elementary School; and Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Cove Elementary School.

The meetings will address the issue of whether the proposed new middle school should house grades five through eight or six through eight. The School Committee is scheduled to vote on the grade configuration on Feb. 26.

The target audience for the meetings are parents of prekindergarten and kindergarten students who will be the first group in the new middle school, which is scheduled to open in September 2017, although all members of the public are welcome.

The meetings will include an overview by Interim Superintedent Albert Argenziano; a panel of school principals, administrators and adjustment counselors; Mayor Mike Cahill; a presentation by a School Committee task force; and a question-and-answer session for the public.

The city is planning to build a new middle school at the site for the former Memorial Middle School.

It would either be a completely new building or a renovation/expansion of the current Memorial building.
