Police searching for suspects in thefts at Planet Fitness

SALEM β€” Salem police are searching for one or more suspects who they say stole several items from three customers at Planet Fitness on Traders Way early yesterday morning.

At 12:19 a.m., police responded to 19 Traders Way, where a party reported his bag went missing between 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Inside the bag was about $130 worth of belongings, including a wallet, a Massachusetts license, a pair of pants, car keys, dietary supplements, a T-shirt and a debit card.

While police were taking a statement from the first victim, another victim approached the officer and reported that his iPod and a $1 bill went missing from a locker between 11 p.m. and 12:25 a.m.

About six hours later, another party reported that his black iPhone 5 was missing from his locker, along with $120 cash.

All of the items were taken from unlocked lockers.

There are no suspects or witnesses at this time, and police said it’s hard to say whether one person committed all three thefts.
