Police responded to a suspicious-activity call at 4:41 p.m. from 62 Hathaway Ave. regarding a “man asking questions and soliciting for sex.”
At 3:49 p.m., a caller from 19 Berrywood Lane reported that his mother has been receiving phone calls from phone scammers pressuring her for money and claiming that she owes money for bills. The party also said someone has come to her door trying to get money for bills.
A caller from Cleveland Road reported a suspicious male walking from door to door at 2:22 p.m. The officer reported it was the oil man.
An officer spoke to an employee from Tremont Market at 3:26 p.m. who reported that someone called stating that they were from the light plant and wanted credit card information because she had not paid the bill.
A caller from Christina Drive reported to police at 4:30 p.m. that someone activated four lines on her Verizon Wireless account in November without her knowledge.
At 6:29 p.m., an employee from Shining Star Piercing on Central Street reported that a male party entered a vehicle that was parked in a driveway. When he confronted him, he ran down Central Street toward Wilson Square. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket. According to the log, a purse was taken from the car.
Police responded to a domestic-assault call coming from 27 Harrison Ave. at 10:03 p.m. and subsequently arrested Orlando Conforti, 45, 27 Harrison Ave., on charges of assault and battery.
A caller reported at 11:43 p.m. that he heard approximately 20 gunshots or firework sounds in the area of 9 Tremont St. At 11:44 p.m., police received a call from a party at 10 Crownshield St., saying that someone had set off fireworks near a pond at the back of the building. According to the log, nobody was around, but there was firework debris in the area of the picnic table at 10 Crownshield St.
A party from 199 Andover St. called at 9:04 a.m. stating he “was going to flip out.” The officer reported the person was upset over being suspended from work.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious party inside a motor vehicle at 11:19 a.m. on Lowell Street and subsequently arrested Zachary Dulong, 28, 135 Bridge St., on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and possession of a class A drug.
Police responded to 11 Traders Way at 10:06 p.m. on a report of cars drag racing.
A party reported to police at 12:09 p.m. that her black North Face jacket was stolen from the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road. Her car keys and a pair of gloves were inside the jacket.
At 3:21 p.m., police received a call from 28 Salem St. regarding malicious destruction of property. The caller reported that the side window of his car was smashed between 10:30 p.m. the previous night and the time he filed the report. Nothing was taken from the car.
A caller from Washington Street reported to police at 3:57 p.m. that she received a phone call stating that her father was just in a car accident and they were holding him hostage, and that she had to give the caller $10,000 to release him.
At 10:55 a.m., a caller from the area of Connelly Avenue and Elwin Street reported a large amount of smoke in the air outside and was concerned about a possible fire somewhere in the area.
Police received a call from 229 Windsor Ave. at 11 a.m. regarding a person who had stolen metal from the neighborhood.
At 9:19 p.m., police arrested Scott Allen, 35, 101 Rantoul St., Beverly, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license after he was stopped on Endicott Street.
