Hamilton's Carter-Williams helps Sixers defeat Celtics

---- — BOSTON — Hamilton native Michael Carter-Williams enjoyed a triumphant homecoming last night at TD Garden as the Philadephia 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics 95-94.

Carter-Williams scored 10 points, handed out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds in the Sixers’ win.

The 6-foot-6 point guard was drafted by Philadelphia with the 11th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, and he currently leads all rookies in per game averages in points (17.4), assists (6.7), rebounds (5.4) and steals (2.41). He was playing in front of approximately 150 friends and family members.

Carter-Williams played his freshman year of basketball at Hamilton-Wenham before transferring to St. Andrew’s in Rhode Island. He played two years at Syracuse University before opting for the NBA last spring.
