Beverly

The following students from Beverly were named to St. John's Prep for the third quarter of the 2009-2010 school year: Benjamin Alpern, W. Preston Barclay, Peter Cahill, Brendan Carnevale, John D'Amico, Russell Hollis, James McNeilly, Daniel Milaschewski, Nicholas Nasser, Samuel Rich, Jack Staid, Erick Sun, Peter Trainor and Alexandre Van Anderlecht.

Michael N. Sloan was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Keene State College in New Hampshire.

Benjamin Goldberg was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Ten Beverly High School students are attending the International Career Development Conference of DECA in Louisville, Ky., after competing at the state conference. The group includes seniors Allison Murray, Mary Brennan and Kerry Richardson, and juniors Hayley Carlotto, John Tutty Jr., Ashley Chalifour, Matthew Eriksen, Brian Alexander, Taylor Ayoub and Alexandra Kelly.

Andrew Hollis was named to the dean's list for the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters at Duke University.

Alexander L. Berg has joined the Chicago law firm of Novack and Macey LLP as an associate, where he will practice commercial litigation. Berg graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University in 2004 and then attended George Washington University Law School, where he received a J.D. with high honors, Order of the Coif, in 2007.

Kaitlyn P. Ethier, a 2008 graduate of Beverly High School and a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island, was recently inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society for her outstanding academic achievement.

Matthew Crawford, son of David Crawford and a 2007 graduate of St. John's Prep, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Saint Michael's College.

Matthew Gibley was named to the dean's list for the fall 2009 semester at Bentley College.

Mariya Rudfeld, a senior in the pharmacy program at Northeastern University, recently received The North Shore Pharmacists' Association Award and The Eli Lilly Award for Professional Achievement and Academic Excellence, which is presented annually to graduating seniors who have achieved the highest academic averages in the class.

Jennifer M. Carr, a senior majoring in geography at Salem State College, recently received one of this year's Dr. John George Memorial Scholarship Award for scholarship and service within the department.
