Man shot in Peabody apartment last night

PEABODY — Police are investigating the shooting of an 18-year-old man in a Peabody apartment late Thursday night.

The victim, whose name has not been released by police, was found with "multiple" gunshot wounds in apartment 5 at 45 Washington St. at approximately 11 p.m., according to a Peabody police press release.

The shooting does not appear to be random, police said.

Peabody police, along with troopers from the state police detectives unit assigned to the district attorney's office, are investigating the shooting but have not made any arrests.

The victim was taken to Salem Hospital.
