Free performance of Haydn masterwork tomorrow

WENHAM — Franz Joseph Haydn's choral masterwork "Paukenmesse — Missa in Tempore Belli" (Mass in Time of War) will be performed tomorrow night at Gordon College.

The 8 p.m. concert, part of the American Choral Directors Association Conference at the college, is free and open to the public.

More than 60 choral directors from throughout New England will gather for an informal performance of the masterwork, after participating in classes today and tomorrow.

Through this week, Gordon's graduate music education program is hosting more than 150 band, orchestra, choral and general music teachers from across the United States for workshops with experts in the field, including John Feierabend, an authority on music and movement development in early childhood.

Tomorrow's performance will be in Phillips Music Center Recital Hall at Gordon College, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham.
