Daniel T. Hegarty, 20, of 18 Conner Road, Beverly, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. on Loring Avenue by Patrolman Theodore Pierce on charges of being a minor with alcohol, being disorderly and resisting arrest. The arrest was made as police were in the process of ending a loud party.
David L. Thomas, 48, of 63 Astor St., Lynn, was arrested at 2:10 a.m. on Aborn Street by Patrolman John Burke on a charge of breaking and entering in the night to commit a crime and having burglary tools. Police responded to a report of “a suspicious party under a motor vehicle.”
A man discovered at 3:44 a.m. sitting in the ATM hallway of Eastern Bank on Congress Street told police he’d missed the last train home and didn’t have money for a hotel. He was trying to keep warm. Police sent him on his way. A man was also found at 3:59 a.m. sleeping in a doorway on Lafayette Street.
There was no stopping a woman who told police at 10:11 a.m. that she “was exiting Proctor Street,” according to the log, “and was unable to stop. ... Went through the stop sign, straight across Highland Avenue ... into the Salem Hospital parking lot. She states that at that time she was able to stop her vehicle.” Buoyed by her success, she decided to keep driving and headed up Highland Avenue, where she was able to stop again by rear-ending another driver near Planet Fitness. She was given a citation for driving with defective equipment.
Go to court, police told a woman complaining that her boyfriend’s former girlfriend “has been calling ... at all hours of the night to the point where she and (he) cannot sleep,” according to the log at 1:28 p.m.
Paul Michael Pustorino, 22, of 10 Barrett Road, Lynn, was arrested at 1:58 p.m. at Boston and Federal streets on a charge of driving after his license had been suspended. Responding was the Special Response Unit, including Sgt. Kristian Hanson.
