Name: John Forrant

Hometown: Beverly

Description: “I took this at Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire. I love the feeling of expansiveness that my wide-angle lens and low POV created. I love shooting just about anything in nature and enjoy exploring the local area.”

Camera info: Canon T2i, f/22 at 1/100 ISO 400

PHOTO STAFF CRITIQUE

“The photographer does a very nice job capturing the essence of fall in New England. The angle and focal length at which this photo is shot gives the viewer a vast view of the landscape, a scene filled with complementary colors and vibrant tones. The photographer divides the image using the deep green trees hugging the horizon line to separate the blue sky and the green grass littered with the red and orange leaves. The way the camera slightly distorts the leaves in the bottom of the frame creates receding lines that guide the viewer’s eye throughout the frame.”
