A woman reported that an unknown man began yelling and cursing at her for no reason her while she was sitting on the steps on the sea wall at Collins Cove. Police were unable to locate him.
Police received a 1:32 p.m. report that two vehicles had struck each other while backing out of parking spaces at 17 Paradise Road.
A woman told police at 3:27 p.m. that a suspicious man had followed her and her three young children while she was at the Essex Street pedestrian mall the day before. “She stated the male followed her for more than an hour as she browsed the shops on the mall,” an officer wrote. “She states the male never confronted her or spoke to her.” The woman provided police with a photo she took of the man.
A man came to the station at 3:30 p.m. to report a possible scam in which a man had sent him a check for $2,300 for two chairs he’d offered up for sale on the Internet. “He was to cash it, keep his portion, then give the rest of the cash to the shipper, who would come pick up the chairs,” police wrote. “He emailed the person back saying he was not interested.”
A woman reported at 4:17 p.m. that her $200 cellphone had been stolen out of her purse while it was in the office of the Lawyer of the Day Program at Salem Probate Court.
At 1:02 a.m., an officer on High Street arrested Yevgeniy Zhigulin, 21, of 15 Rand Circle, Danvers, on charges of driving to endanger, possession to distribute a Class D drug and illegal possession of a knife.
Police received an 8:06 a.m. report that a boat at John George Park appeared to be sinking.
A shoplifter stole baby formula from Walmart, according to a 3:45 p.m. report. Police arrested Mabel Restrepo, 32, of 100 Harrison Ave., Winsocket, R.I., on a charge of larceny over $250.
