Water restrictions start in Wenham

The Salem News

---- — WENHAM — The town’s mandatory water restriction has begun.

From May 1 through Sept. 30, no sprinklers are allowed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., but hand-watering is permitted. The restriction includes private wells.

The conservation is in accordance with the water use restriction bylaw and in compliance with the town’s withdrawal permit issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, according to a release from the town’s Water Department.

Violators of this order could be fined up to $100 for each offense, according to the release.
