A vehicle was towed off the train tracks at Cole and Foster streets, according to a 9:40 p.m. log item.

A 10:04 p.m. report of a person in a Dumpster brought an officer to 50 Broadway, but nothing suspicious was located.

Police received an 11:43 p.m. report that a man was passed out in a driveway on Chase Street.


Police received multiple reports of fireworks near 107 Essex St. at 2:44 a.m.

A BB was shot through a window at 7 Winter St., according to a 2:10 p.m. report.



Police will investigate a 3:12 p.m. report that a transient was living in the woods in the area of 2 Lions Ave.

Police received a 4:12 p.m. report that a man in a blue vehicle approached a group of youths at 16 Cherry St. and attempted to talk to them. The kids walked away; police were unable to locate the man or the vehicle.

A Cleveland Road man reported at 6:55 p.m. that he had bitten into a piece of pizza from Salem House of Pizza and “found a piece of metal in it.” The man put the piece of metal in a bag, according to the log. “He was not injured but wanted a police report taken.”

Police were unable to locate the pit bull that was reported to be running through the area of Purchase Street at 7:12 p.m.

Police observed a man yelling and swearing in the area of the MBTA bus stop near 135 Lafayette St. and arrested Michael Granville, 55, of 10 Sheldon St., Lynn, on charges of disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property over $250.


A 1:26 a.m. report of an undesirable person in the garage at 1 New Liberty St. resulted in the arrest of Jesse Cunha, 22, of 19 Bryant St., Salem, on a charge of illegal possession of a class E substance.
