Vincent Wayne Luciano, 28, 65 Newbury St., Danvers, was arrested, as logged at 6:01 p.m., on Derby Street on charges of illegal possession of a class B and C substance. In the same incident Logan A. Close, 25, 110 Eastway Drive, Oxford, N.C., was arrested for failing to yield and driving with a revoked license. The arrests followed a traffic stop. Responding were patrolmen Thomas Cunningham, Roberson Troncoso and Jonathan Duzz.

Derek M. Gibbs, 21, 16 Hutchins Court, Gloucester, was arrested, as logged at 12:54 a.m., on Bridge Street on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a dangerous weapons, violating the city’s knife ordinance and driving to endanger. In the same incident Joseph Cole DaSilva, 22, 710 Sandy Bay, Rockport, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Patrolmen Jonathan Duzz and Ryan Arundel had responded to a report of a fight at the Black Lobster.

Manuel F. DeJesus, 48, 24 Mason St., Salem, was arrested, as logged at 2:12 a.m., on Canal Street on charges of drunk driving, running a stop sign and a lane violation. He was stopped by Salem State University officer Robert Dolins.

Two homeless people were advised to clear out of a building on Washington Street, according to the log at 8:49 a.m. Neither lived there, according to police.

A car struck by a woman seemed to be the unusual case at 11:22 a.m. on Traders Way. Police arrived to find the woman sitting in the offending vehicle, saying she hit her head. Officers immobilized her head and called an ambulance. The woman explained, “I wasn’t paying attention as I was walking and I hit the car.” The driver said he stopped, but she walked into his front bumper. The woman was taken to Salem Hospital complaining of head pain. The vehicle sustained no damage, according to the log.
