Somebody went through a third-floor window of the apartment building at 5 Pleasant St. and stole sneakers, televisions and $300 cash, according to a 7:32 p.m. report. An officer said a suspect apparently climbed up on the second-floor roof to access the window.
A man was transported to Lahey Medical Center after an 11:49 p.m. report of “toxic inhalation of air freshener” at 10 Sherry Lee Lane. No further information was available.
Jamison Wood, 30, of 65 Main St., Apt. 208, Peabody, was arrested on charges of failure to stop for police and drunken driving, second offense, after a traffic stop at 7 Main St., according to a 1:14 a.m. log item. Wood was subsequently arrested again — on charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing — after he was bailed out and “became loud and abusive” to an officer, police wrote.
A 57-year-old woman at 12 Crowninshield St. was transported to Massachusetts Eye and Ear after she “put a pair of scissors in an eye,” according to an 8:41 a.m. report. An officer said it was unclear how the accident occurred.
A woman reported seeing a man push a child down in a driveway at 37 Beaver St., according to a 4:26 p.m. report.
Police and the Fire Department responded to 70 Broad St. after a 5:17 p.m. report of an oven fire and determined that there was no fire, just a glass bowl with a plastic cover in the oven that had melted, causing smoke.
The contents of a USPS package had been stolen “and the box retaped,” according to a 6:46 p.m. report from a person at 18 Osborne St. Items missing included $100 in cookbooks, a clarinet, doll clothing and an heirloom teddy bear.
A Lynde Street woman reported at 10:32 p.m. that she wanted her son to get a job so he could help pay rent. An officer informed the woman that “we cannot force him to get a job” and that “this was not a police matter.”
