---- — DANVERS — On Saturday, a man entered staff offices and a recreation room of a senior living community on Summer Street and made off with a small safe and some electronic equipment, police said.

As the person did so, the facility got clear pictures of the suspect.

Police Sgt. Robert Bettencourt said police are declining to name the facility over concern that people might think it unsafe. There is no evidence that residents’ rooms were entered during the break-in, he said.

“There is no information suggesting any patient or resident’s personal information was accessed or stolen,” a statement from police said.

According to the Danvers police log, the break-in was reported at 9:03 a.m. Sunday, with police saying the theft occurring sometime Saturday. The same suspect was also seen inside a second assisted-living facility in town on Sunday. Police do not say which.

Bettencourt said Danvers police have alerted police in surrounding communities.

“Waltham is definitely a community he has been in,” Bettencourt said.

Police have also contacted all nursing, assisted-living and rehabilitation facilities in town, alerting them of the theft and providing them with the suspect’s picture.

Police have asked facilities to review their physical security and access controls and to report suspicious people or activity to police.

If you recognize the person pictured, call Danvers Detective Robert Sullivan at 978-774-1388.
