Police received a 1:37 p.m. report that an ice sculpture at 180 Essex St. had been toppled. An officer checked the area and determined that two others had been damaged, as well.

Officers responded to a 3:36 p.m. report of shoplifting at the Family Dollar store at 138 Canal St. and determined that a woman had walked out with a $7 bottle of Gain laundry detergent under her coat. Police spoke to the woman, who admitted stealing the item and said she was “very sorry.” She was issued a no-trespass order.
A 3:29 p.m. report of a swan with a possible broken wing brought police to the Stop & Shop at 19 Howley St. “Duck is in the parking lot,” police wrote later. “Animal control cannot catch the duck.”
St. Adelaide Church at 712 Lowell St. was evacuated after a report of a gas leak and National Grid was called to the scene, according to a 6:36 p.m. log item.
A Sprague Street woman reported to police at 7:20 p.m. that somebody kept ordering Chinese food to her house.
