Danvers man killed in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER — Massachusetts State Police. Gloucester Police and detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s office are investigating the death of a 29-year-old Danvers man who was reportedly either struck or run over by a car early Saturday morning on LePage Lane in West Gloucester.

Carrie Kimball Monahan, speaking for the office of Essex DA Jonathan Blodgett, said the 911 call reporting the incident came at 1:41 a.m. indicated that “a man had been struck by a car at 39 LePage Lane.”

The victim, identified now as Michael J. Linscott, was taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Monahan said.

“The driver of the motor vehicle is cooperating with the investigation and no arrests have been made,” she said in an email, adding that authorities were still “sorting out” the details of the incident.
