Police and the Fire Department responded to a 7:13 p.m. report of a transformer on fire at St. Ann’s Avenue and Griffin Road.
An Avalon Drive man reported at 11:42 p.m. that somebody had opened a credit card with his information.
A 2:45 a.m. report of an unwanted person in the backyard of 11 Tanners Court resulted in the arrest of Daniel Luz, 35, of 211 Lynn St., Peabody, on a charge of trespassing. Luz had agreed to leave the location earlier in the night, according to the log.
A Northfield Road man reported at 9:24 p.m. that two UPS packages had been stolen from his front porch after they were delivered.
Police received a 1:59 p.m. report that a deer ran into the side of a van at the YMCA at 259 Lynnfield St.
Police received a 2:04 a.m. report of loud neighbors near 42 Beckford St., but an officer determined upon arrival at the address that the “apartment was in darkness and there was no answer at the door.”
Shoplifters fled a store at 19 Dodge St., according to a 5:41 p.m. report. Police didn’t report finding them.
A wallet was found at the Peabody Institute Library at 15 Sylvan St., according to a 1:12 p.m. log item.
Police conducted a traffic stop at Maple and Newbury streets at 3:45 p.m. and arrested a 32-year-old man on warrants.
A Devereux Street man reported at 8:17 a.m. that a $1,000 Cartier watch had been stolen from an eyeglass case in his unlocked car. “Watch was in the eyeglass case as he was taking it to have the battery replaced,” police wrote. About $10 in quarters was taken from another car on Devereux Street, according to an 8:32 a.m. log item.
Police received a 9:10 a.m. report that shoes a woman had intended to return to the store were stolen from a vehicle on Buchanan Road.
