Mosquito spraying in Salem tonight

SALEM — Mosquito spraying will take place tonight from 8 to midnight along Boston Street and Highland Avenue.

As a precaution, health officials advise residents who live along that route to stay indoors during those hours and to keep windows closed.

The Salem Board of Health and the Northeast Mosquito Control program decided to do precautionary spraying after positive samples of mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus were found in this region in recent days.
