Police received a report at 6 p.m. of an attempted break-in at Endicott Green Apartments on Route 1.
Cayla Leavitt, 20, of 22 Ann Logan Circle, Raymond, N.H., was arrested at 2:15 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Kohl's on Independence Way.
Scott W. Macrae, 44, of 14 Settlers Way, Salem, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, following a report of a past domestic disturbance on Osborne Hill Road.
Joan-Olivia M. Mott, 28, of 18 Osborne St., Lynn, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. and charged with larceny (more than $250), following a report of a shoplifter at Walmart.
Police received a report at 9:08 p.m. of a car break-in on Pleasant Street.
Police received a report at 9:53 a.m. of vandalism to the gazebo at the Salem Common.
Cassie Ann Dorrance, 20, of 7 Pershing Ave., Beverly, was arrested at 11:45 a.m. and charged with disturbing the peace, following a report of an out-of-control person on Mason Street.
David F. Bourgault, 53, of 19 Belleau Road, Salem, was arrested at 4 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery at his residence.
William P. Maurice, 49, who is listed as homeless, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on Howley Street and charged with threatening to commit a crime.
Police responded to Interstate 95 south near exit Exit 45 for a crash involving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver, Tiago Assuncao, 22, of Everett, was taken to Lynn Union Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
State police will summons Assuncao on charges of driving while unlicensed and a marked lanes violation. A 28-year-old passenger from Malden was not injured.
The crash shut down the left lane of the southbound interstate for a half-hour. The Peabody Fire Department also responded. Trooper Lisa Cote-Barthelmess investigated the crash.
An Oak Avenue resident reported to police at 12:15 a.m. that someone threw a rock through her window.
Police received a report at 9:33 a.m. of a car break-in on Goldberg Road.
Jonathan Crow, 31, of 16 Sylvester St., Lawrence, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license, following a motor-vehicle stop on River Street.
A 16-year-old Gloucester boy was arrested at 5:30 a.m. and charged with five counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in the nighttime and one count each of attempted breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.
Ipswich police first received a report of someone breaking into a car on Hayward Street. A suspect, who was seen in the area, took off running. Police Lt. Dan Moriarty said police, with the help of a state police search K-9, located the juvenile hiding inside a car.
Police also charged him with breaking into the office of the Whittier Motel, as well as his own room. The juvenile told police he broke into his room because he lost his key, Moriarty said. Inside the office, police said he stole an undetermined amount of cash.
The juvenile was later arraigned and held on $10,000 cash bail. Patrolman Patrick Carlin, Sgt. Jason Monteiro, Patrolman Mark Ruggiero and Detective Peter Dziadose were involved in the case.
Edward H. Winslow, 48, of 48 Cogswell Ave., Beverly, was arrested at 5:14 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery at his residence.
Maria J. Rochez, 46, of 19 Cressy St., Apt. 7, Marblehead, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. at her residence and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (a guitar), malicious destruction of property and domestic assault and battery.
