MIDDLETON — Elaine Gauthier of Middleton won first place in the Middleton Stream Team's photo contest this year, with a photograph of Farnsworth Landing on the Ipswich River, shot during the winter.
This is Gauthier's first time entering the contest. She received a $200 prize during the awards ceremony earlier this month at the Lura Woodside Watkins Museum in Middleton.
Second place ($100) was awarded to Nancy Cerullo of Middleton for her photo of an egret with reflection. This is the second year that Cerullo has been an award recipient in the contest.
Third place ($50) went to Jonathan Campbell of Bradford for his photo of ice draped on a branch.
Those receiving honorable mention were Pam Hartman of Middleton, Michael Robinson of North Reading, Alison Colby-Campbell of Bradford, Jennifer Levesque of Lynn and Jonathan Campbell of Bradford.
All the photographs may be viewed online at MiddletonStreamTeam.org. Additionally, the award winners and honorable mention are on display at the Middleton post office/Sovereign Bank lobby.
The purpose of the contest is to develop appreciation for and stewardship for the Ipswich River and its watershed.
