Police responded to a 10:54 p.m. report of a domestic assault on Park Street and subsequently arrested Radhames Medina Soto, 26, of 16 Park St., Salem, on charges of two counts of domestic assault and battery, armed assault with intent to murder, and two counts of assault and battery by dangerous weapon. An officer said Soto pulled out a knife while he was arguing with a former girlfriend and held it “toward” her throat and stomach.
Around 10:20 a.m., an officer at 47 Federal St. arrested Michael Anthony Viola, 50, of 4 Butterfield St., Saugus, on a felony warrant of Salem, N.H., with a charge of “criminal solicitation to commit and criminal liability for conduct of another,” according to the log. Police in New Hampshire planned to have Viola extradited.
Officers were unable to locate a child who was reported to be “going to cars asking for money” near Congress and Leavitt streets at 4:18 p.m.
Police responded to a 10:35 p.m. report of a mother-daughter domestic dispute at 57 Needham Road and subsequently arrested Susan Previte, 51, of the same address, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
An 11:38 p.m. report of an erratic operator in a vehicle with heavy damage resulted in the arrest of John Drinkwater, 57, of 24 Foster St., Danvers, on a charge of drunken driving, third offense.
Police conducted a traffic stop on Endicott Street at 2:10 a.m. and arrested Douglas Gomes, 31, of 21 Sprague St., Peabody, on a charge of attaching plates and having an uninsured motor vehicle or trailer.
A 2:52 p.m. report of shoplifting at the Market Basket on Endicott Street resulted in the arrest of Anthony Borzi, 75, of 6 Dodge Court, Danvers, on a charge of shoplifting by asportation.
Police conducted a traffic stop about 2:45 p.m. and arrested Elvis Peralta, 48, of 25 Fairmont St., Lawrence, on charges of failure to inspect and operating with a suspended license.
