Annual book swap also includes DVDs, CDs

The Salem News

---- — SALEM — Have unwanted books, DVDs or CDs? Drop them off, and pick up a few new ones, at the Recycling Committee’s annual book swap this month.

Books and other items will be available for free Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 5 Broad St.

Organizers say the annual event, now in its eighth year, has drawn 2,000 people over its history and kept 26,000 books — more than 13 tons’ worth — out of the trash.

Drop off items for the swap at the Senior Center on Friday, Sept. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., or on Saturday between 9:45 a.m. and noon. Books of all kinds will be accepted, as well as greeting cards, CDs, DVDs and videos.

Items at the Sept. 21 swap are free; you don’t have to bring items to the event to be able to take materials home. For details, see
