A 5:19 p.m. report that two males were arguing and that one had a knife brought police to Derby Street and Fort Avenue. Subsequently arrested was Ralph Sciarretta, 44, homeless, on a charge of violating the city’s knife ordinance.

A 5:51 p.m. report that a male had passed out on a sidewalk brought police to the Dunkin’ Donuts at 31 Bridge St., where they determined he had been waiting for a ride and fallen asleep.

A Prince Street boy’s guardian reported at 7 p.m. that another child at his middle school in Stoneham had “threatened to stab him in the arm if he didn’t give him his backpack.” An officer advised her to report the incident to the school and to contact Salem Police again if anything happened inside the city.

An officer responded to Curtis Park on March Street after a 7:51 p.m. report that a male was sleeping there and determined the individual had been kicked out of his house by his mother. The officer escorted him to a friend’s house where he could stay for the night.

Police were unable to locate a juvenile with a skateboard who was reported to have stolen a $3 can of Red Bull from the Walyo’s store at 20 Essex St. at 8:11 p.m.

Police received a 9:29 p.m. report of a mother-daughter domestic dispute on Carlton Street. Subsequently arrested was Lauren E. Vowells, 24, of 12 Carlton St., Salem, on charges of assault and battery and malicious destruction of property over $250.

Officers in the area of 59 Boston St. at 11:23 p.m. observed suspicious activity among three males in a parked vehicle, according to the log. Police subsequently seized under an ounce of marijuana from them and sent them on their way.

According to the log, an officer observed a man hop a fence and enter Bertram Field around 11:30 p.m. and subsequently arrested Timothy G. Wells, 24, of 5 Curtis Road, Woburn, on charges of trespassing and violating the city’s knife ordinance.
