A worker at the cemetery on West Shore Drive reported at 11:28 a.m. that a white convertible had driven over a lawn there. An officer wrote later: “Spoke with the driver, and he was visiting his wife up there, and when he was turning around, he went up on the lawn a little bit.”
Police were unable to locate a woman who was reported to be texting while she drove from Vinnin Square to Mohawk Road at 12:14 p.m.
An Elm Street woman reported at 2 p.m. that “twice now, a child leaving the Gerry school had run up to her house and sticks his hand or face in her mail slot.” The woman said she was “concerned because she has a dog and is in fear the dog may snap at the child if provoked enough.”
Police received a 2:57 p.m. report from a Baldwin Road man who said that a man had gotten “in his face” and said “all my friends are cops” when he confronted him about parking in front of his driveway.
Somebody on Goldthwait Road reported at 4:53 p.m. that a truck had been “idling for the last 20 minutes” and “stinking up the neighborhood.” Police wrote later: “Truck has since left the area.”
Police received a 5:16 p.m. report that a woman’s daughter was walking down Mugford Street when a “strange man on a porch ... asked her to come in to his garage and look at his car.” The woman said she knew the man was “special” and that she “didn’t blow up the situation but is concerned.”
An Ocean Avenue woman reported at 6:11 p.m. that somebody had stolen a surfboard and golf clubs from her backyard. “They also tried to get into guest area, and handles are broken, but no entry was made,” police wrote.
