---- — BEVERLY — A Beverly woman is facing a charge of driving after license suspension after Lynn police stopped her as she started driving away from the scene of what police believe may have been a fatal accident in that city early Tuesday.
However, Katherine Hochstin, 29, of 100 Cabot St., has not been charged with being involved in the accident, or with leaving the scene or a motor vehicle crash, a spokeswoman for the Essex district attorney’s office said.
She is free on personal recognizance on the license charge, a misdemeanor.
A man in his 30s, who has not been publicly identified by police, was found, injured, near the intersection of Union and Smith streets shortly before 1 a.m.
Police in Lynn are still investigating the incident, in which a gun was also found at the scene, said Essex district attorney’s spokeswoman Carrie Kimball Monahan.
