Salem Willows concerts start tonight

SALEM — The Salem Willows summer concerts are scheduled to begin tonight — weather permitting.

The free, six-week series features the North Shore Concert Band, which plays marches, semi-classical music, and show and popular tunes.

The concert also includes a parade by young children in attendance.

The 25-piece band, which has been playing at the Willows for years, is directed by Dave Benjamin.

The concerts are from 7 to 9 p.m. at the band shell. After skipping July Fourth week, they will continue every Tuesday night through Aug. 7.
