STORIFY: Salem City Council — what people are saying

The Salem City Council spent seven hours last week voting on how to fill its open councilor-at-large seat, left vacant by former council President Joan Lovely's resignation, but couldn't come to a resolution. The council's 300 votes didn't go unnoticed, and many turned to Twitter and Facebook to vent their frustrations throughout the evening and through the weekend.
