Michael Anthony Fournier, 29, of 26 Wellman St., Beverly, was arrested at home at 8:24 p.m. by officers Erik Abrahamson, John McCarthy and Sgt. David Faustino on a charge of assault and battery.
A Beverly resident reported a lost cellphone at 9:17 p.m. Thanks to satellite technology, it was soon recovered at a location near Fenway Park in Boston.
A Wellman Street resident reported a slashed tire at 9:36 p.m.

Police responded to a complaint that two people were fighting at Cabot and Pond streets, according to the log at 12:08 a.m.
Police investigated an assault on Rantoul Street at 1:23 a.m.
A counterfeit $100 was investigated at McDonald's, according to a 2:13 p.m. log entry.
Someone cut a satellite cable on Rantoul Street, according to a 2:28 p.m. report.
A man described as an aggressive panhandler was confronted by police at Park Street at 4:18 p.m. A teen, he told them he was "looking for change to call (his) mother," according to the log. He wanted her to know he'd missed his train. When offered assistance, he turned it down. He later got a ride.
A bicyclist told police at 4:25 p.m. that he'd been threatened by a limo driver at Hart Street and Preston Place. But he declined to give his name, and police could not find the limo.
A driver earned a citation at 5:45 p.m. after going too fast on Hale Street, driving into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of Haskell Street, then "yelling and acting inappropriately," according to the log.
John V. Egan, 20, of 34 Terra Road, Plainville, Conn., was arrested on Cabot Street at 6:08 p.m. by Patrolmen John McCarthy and Edward Hathon on a charge of having alcohol while under 21. Police had responded to a report of someone using a fake ID.
A broken window was determined to be the likely victim of a thrown rock at 9:55 p.m. on Elliott Street.
Police answered a report of an assault with a knife on Sohier Road at 10:37 p.m.

A homeless man going through trash on Cabot Street inspired a call to police at 8:53 a.m. with a complaint he was "lurking."
A vehicle was reported stolen on Federal Street at 9:45 a.m.
Up and down, up and down — that was the problem with the railroad crossing gate at Essex Street and Lake Shore Avenue at 11:16 p.m. Work at Prides Crossing was said to have created the situation.
A break-in at a residence on Rantoul Street was investigated at 3:13 p.m.
A syringe found in the park on Lothrop Street drew concern as a mother had to be told that her "young child (had) found and handled it," according to the log at 6:21 p.m.

A report of someone using a Social Security number illicitly was followed up on Fitzgerald Way at 1:28 p.m.

A Pitman Road resident reported at 10:16 a.m. that the telephone wire and some siding had been pulled down from his house.
A woman asked police at 11:56 a.m. to view her vehicle, which was keyed on Gallison Avenue.
Jeffrey David Roy, 26, of 418B Nepean St., Ottawa, Ontario, was arrested on Pond Street at 11:26 p.m. by officers David Ostrovitiz and Jason McDonald on a charge of destruction of property. Police had responded to a report of someone "trying to break down the fence at the house next to him," according to the log. Roy was also taken, for a time, to Salem Hospital.
Saturday
An honest citizen dropped off a wallet at the police station at 6:59 a.m. containing bank cards and $155. Police contacted the owner and returned it.
Poor eyesight prevented a woman from seeing who broke her fence. She told police at 9 a.m. she looked out the window on Mugford Street the night before after hearing "a loud crack," according to the log. She saw "a large man getting up off the ground." Without her contact lenses, she could see little more. In the morning, she saw the fence and some flagstones had been damaged.
Police took a complaint at 10:17 a.m. that a woman on Front Street was double-parked, refusing to move.
A resident on Blueberry Road reported at 10:25 a.m. that someone shot a BB through a window overnight.
A resident on Nicholson Hill promised to turn down the TV after a complaint at 7:32 p.m. that it had been "blaring" for more than a week, 24 hours a day.

A five-car accident on Lighthouse Lane at 4:22 p.m. sent two people to the hospital. One woman was cited by police. The Fire Department also responded.
A man told police at 9:26 p.m. that he was receiving threatening phone calls. Police called the man accused of making the calls. He agreed to stop as long as the other man did, too.

Police towed cars on North and Pingree streets after 5:56 p.m. A cruiser with an electronic plate reader was alerted to the fact the insurance had been revoked for three vehicles. In the second and third case, the owners came along and got citation, as well.
Police were told at 7:53 that a car on Meadow Street had been broken into, a side window smashed and a laptop lifted from it.
Allison Ann Murley, 42, of 10 Heritage Drive, Salem, was arrested on Jefferson Avenue at 8:11 p.m. by Salem State University police officer Daniel Musto on charges of drunken driving, driving to endanger, marked lanes violations and driving with an open container of alcohol.
A woman complained at 9:40 p.m. that someone had thrown a water balloon at her open rear window, soaking the rear seat, as she passed on Highland Avenue at Swampscott Road. Police were unable to find the culprits.
An emergency restraining order was granted to a woman on Essex Street who told police at 10:16 p.m. that she is afraid of her ex-boyfriend, who has been abusing drugs and alcohol and can be mentally and physically abusive when under the influence. She worries he "will harm her if he comes to her apartment," according to the log.
Two people complained to police at 10:55 p.m. that they were "creeped out" when an older man sat beside them at the Willows and talked "about how the '80s were better and began making reference to sexual encounters of his past," according to the log. The pair left, but one woman described the man to police, who seem to recognize him. They promised to have a talk with him.
A mother on Rainbow Terrace reported her daughter missing at 11:23 p.m., and not for the first time, adding concerns that she has "a gambling problem and has been selling her food stamps to support this addiction," according to the log. The missing daughter, police noted, has also been involved in two lottery scams.
It wasn't funny to the victim when a man came up behind him at the 7-Eleven on North Street and hit him in the back of the legs. "This person thought the incident was funny," according to the log. The target knew the man back in 2002. Police were unable to locate him at 11:40 p.m., but they advised the complainant of his right to seek protection from the courts.

A driver from Tom Taxi reported to police at 3:21 a.m. that an unidentified woman arriving at 1000 Loring Ave. paid him $3 on a $10 fare. Police will file the report.
A business on Boston Street complained at 6:25 a.m. that a homeless person seems to have been living in an unlocked garage on the property.
A discussion on Collins Street regarding the sale of the Ward 2 Social Club got so heated that one member told police at 9:07 a.m. that he was a victim of assault at the hands of another. Police advised him to pursue any actions at District Court.
A man climbing through the window of his father's house on Nursery Street drew a call from a neighbor to police at 9:42 a.m. The father told police that "all was well" and that he'd advised his son "to enter by way of the front door in the future," according to the log.
A Bridge Street man who keeps getting a $400 gas bill from Woodbury, Conn., was advised by police at 11:19 a.m. to run a credit check on himself.
After filing a tax return on behalf of her recently deceased husband, a woman on Marlborough Road discovered that someone else had also filed a return from Tampa, Fla. "The IRS is working with her on this matter," according to the police report at 11:42 a.m. "There are no witnesses or suspects at this time."
Police answered the unusual complaint of a "snake in the kitchen" at a residence on Belleview Avenue at 12:43 p.m. Two officers removed a 2-foot-long, half-inch-diameter corn snake.
A woman was cited on Marlborough Road at 2:16 p.m. for driving with a suspended license after police pulled her over for having an expired inspection sticker.
A Bellevue Avenue woman lent someone her car to go to the store the day after Independence Day. The borrower said "that she would be right back," according to the log. She hasn't seen the person or the car since. At 4:10 p.m., she reported the car as stolen. She also reported the loss of some checks (a few of those have been cashed) and a credit card.
Theft from a vehicle was reported on Beaver Street at 4:29 p.m.
A truck on Lafayette Street was defaced with white paint, according to the log at 5:02 p.m.
Police took a complaint at 5:25 p.m. of a bike stolen on West Circle.

Police responded to a report at 5:27 p.m. of a domestic dispute at Kirkbride Drive. Then they responded to a report of domestic assault and battery at 5:40 p.m. at a different Kirkbride Drive address.
Police responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute at 7:19 p.m. on Holten Street.
A vehicle was reported vandalized at 8:08 p.m. on Liberty Street.
Daniel Coyne, 20, of 22 May St., Peabody, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. on Milton Road by Officer Jason Skane on a charge of speeding, failing to stop for police and a traffic light violation.
A stolen bike was logged from Abington Road at 8:56 p.m.

Police responded to a report on Holten Street at 10:59 a.m. of two women in a "physical fight."
An accident with personal injury was reported at High and Porter streets at 3:50 p.m.
Anthony C. Gideika Jr., 30, of Quarry Road, Lynn, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. on Route 1 by state police Trooper Brad Sullivan and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and a marked lanes violation. Gideika drew suspicion when he rear-ended a truck set up by a police detail to guard a work crew.

A Hamilton woman is facing a drunken-driving charge after an officer observed her driving erratically early Sunday. Laura Clark, 43, of 440 Bridge St., South Hamilton, was arrested at 1:03 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger and a marked lanes violation.
